2018 Series Championship:

Points are earned based on your placement at each Series event. Points will be earned at both distances for each event with multiple distances.
You must participate in at least 3 of the 5 Series events to be eligible for the Series Championship. All ties at the end of the Series will be broken by the results of the Series finale, the Ore 4 Miler on September 8, 2018.
Series Championship awards will be given out at the Ore 4 Miler on September 8, 2018. You must be present at the Ore 4 Miler on September 8, 2018 to receive Series Championship awards.
COMPETITIVE CATEGORIES - OVERALL CHAMPIONSHIP AND DIVISION CHAMPIONSHIP:
Participants competing for the Series Championship will compete in two competitive categories: Overall Championship and Division Championship.
Overall (Open/Masters/Senior Grand Masters) Championship: Overall Championship awards will be presented to the 1st place male and female Open (39 and under), 1st place male and female Masters (40+), and 1st place male and female Senior Grand Masters (60+) champions based on points earned at each Series event.
Only the top 5 male and female Open finishers, top 5 male and female Masters finishers, and top 5 male and female Senior Grand Masters finishers for each distance at each event will receive points in the Overall Championship category. Overall Championship points will be awarded as follows:
1st Place - 10 points
2nd Place - 8 points
3rd Place - 6 points
4th Place - 4 points
5th Place - 2 points
Participants receiving Overall Championship points at an event also will receive Division Championship points at that event. Overall Series Championship award winners (1st place male and female Open; 1st place male and female Masters; and 1st place male and female Senior Grand Masters), however, are NOT eligible for Division Championships.
Division Championship: Division Championship awards will be presented to the top 3 male and female finishers in each division based on points earned at each Series event.
Division Championship points will be awarded as follows:
1st Place - 10 points
2nd Place - 9 points
3rd Place - 8 points
4th Place - 7 points
5th Place - 6 points
6th Place - 5 points
7th Place - 4 points
8th Place - 3 points
9th Place - 2 points
10th Place and beyond - 1 point
Divisions for each Series event are: 14 & under; 15-19; 20-24; 25-29; 30-34; 35-39; 40-44; 45-49; 50-54; 55-59; 60-64; 65-69; 70-74; 75-79; and 80 & over. To keep age divisions consistent for the entire Series, your age at each Series event is based on your age as of September 8, 2018 (the date of the last 2018 Series event, the Ore 4 Miler).
Please note Division Championship points are awarded based on your OVERALL place in your division at an event. For example, if you receive an award for 1st Place – Division at an event, but a top overall finisher at the event (top 3 overall, top masters) competed in your division, your place for that particular event will drop down below the top overall finisher for purposes of determining Division Championship points for that event.
